Winners of ‘Reflections of Research’ Photo Competition Announced
The Research Office has announced the winners of the Reflections of Research photo competition.
Aimed at postgraduate students, the competition looked for striking images that reflect research activity at Loughborough across all schools and disciplines.
The competition was judged by the Research Development Team, who were incredibly impressed with the quality of the submissions received, and the breadth of research at Loughborough that was represented.
The winning images were felt to have creatively engaged with the briefing, resulting in striking images of Loughborough research. Six additional ‘honourable mention’ awards of £20 were made.
Winners
First Prize – Alec Wright, Chemical Engineering.
The image (pictured right) shows a plasma reactor that Alec has designed. It shows the plasma that is formed which gives the purple glow and the bubbles produced from the membrane above.
Runner Up I – Jamie Stone, Centre for Sustainable Manufacturing and Recycling Technologies (SMART)
