Loughborough University soars into UK top five
The table ranks the country’s 119 universities by scoring each institution for the aspects of university life that matter most to students, such as course and teaching satisfaction, staff to student ratio, spend per student, average entry tariff and employability.
Loughborough has climbed seven places from last year, with 16 of its courses being ranked in the national top 10. The 4th place ranking marks the University’s highest ever league table position and makes it the top ranked university in England after Cambridge and Oxford. It comes just weeks after Loughborough secured 7th place in The UK Complete University Guide 2017.
Loughborough University Vice Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said:
“I am absolutely delighted that Loughborough has been ranked 4th in the Guardian University League Table. This important league table bases its results on the factors that matter most to students, which makes our achievement in it even more rewarding.
“Although rankings fluctuate, with universities going up and down, this latest positioning for Loughborough is yet further evidence of our continued success and is testament to the hard work that has taken place across the University. I would like to congratulate everyone who has helped us get to this position.”
Jess Excell, President of Loughborough Students’ Union added:
“To be recognised as a leading University in the UK is fantastic. Working together we have created a unique environment at Loughborough where each individual student is valued and listed to. It makes me very proud to be president of Loughborough Students’ Union.”
