The first event was on Monday 27 May 2024 in Accra, Ghana and the second one took place on Friday 31 May 2024 in Lagos, Nigeria.

The events provided the opportunity for alumni and prospective students in the region to network with each other but also share their experiences and advice with offer-holders. Those who attended also learned about the University’s latest news and achievements.

Following the event in Ghana, the Vice-Chancellor commented on the “energised reception” in Accra. He added, in his post on X, how it was:

Great for current offer holders to hear the authentic views of our amazing alumni.

Other highlights of the Vice-Chancellor's trip included ministry visits, university visits and activity with the British Council.

Martyn Edwards, Director of Marketing and Advancement who accompanied Professor Nick Jennings on the trip, posted on X after meeting with British Council:

Excellent symposium event with senior representatives from across the national sporting ecosystem in Ghana including the Football Association, Olympic Committee and government, lots of synergy & opportunities for collaboration.

Thank you to all alumni who attended our events! We invite you to check out the photographs of the events on Flickr. You can view the Ghana Vice-Chancellor's Reception and the Lagos Vice-Chancellor's Reception.
