Alumnus Barry Moore’s #LboroJourney to Chartered Engineer
Barry Moore began his journey to chartership with no formal qualifications after leaving school at 15. A decade later, he earned a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Loughborough in 1973 becoming a Chartered Engineer in 1975. This was made possible by the University's forward-thinking approach.

Alumna Xu Pan and current student Zhenlong Wang have been announced as winners of a recent competition held on Chinese social media channels - Loughborough On The Way which celebrates brilliant stories from students and alumni. Xu studied for a Master of Science with distinction, specialising in marketing, and has shared more about her experience at the University.

A Loughborough love story: from freshers’ week to marriage
Emma Godman and Matthew Pickering met during freshers’ week when they started studying at Loughborough University in October 2010. Emma studied a BSc in International Business and Matt studied a MEng in Mechanical Engineering. They both lived in neighbouring blocks in Rutherford halls and quickly became part of the same friendship circle.
