Text description of committee structure for the 23/24 academic year:

The diagram shows university committees without associated sub-committees or groups.

There are six Senate committees: 

• Research and innovation committee,
• Learning and teaching committee,
• Sport committee,
• Arts and cultural events committee,
• Prizes committee and
• Student discipline committee.

Senate reports to Council, which in turn has three committees:

• Audit and risk committee,
• Governance and nominations committee and
• Remuneration committee.

Additionally, there are seven joint committees, each reporting to both Senate and Council:

• Equity, Diversity and Inclusion committee,
• Finance committee
• Health, safety and environment committee,
• University honours committee,
• Human resources committee,
• Infrastructure committee and
• Operations committee.

Lay members of Council sit on Council committees and all joint committees except University honours and Operations committees.
