Success all around in the Department's first Projects Image Competition

Student, Alexis and academic Steven at the Materials Projects Image Competition 24

New to this academic year, the Department of Materials holds its first Projects Image competition.

The competition invited all final year project and part D students across our Materials and Bioengineering courses who showcased a fantastic selection of images across a range of different sample types and imaging techniques, including optical and electron microscopy.

Winners and runners up were selected through staff voting on anonymised images and were announced at the Project Celebration in S-Building Foyer on Thursday 23 May. Due to the high number of entries we received for the Materials Final Year Project category, we added 2 additional runners up prizes.

Dr Fiona Hatton, Senior Lecturer in Polymer Chemistry and Undergraduate Admissions Tutor for Materials and Bioengineering comments:

“The event was a success and we will run this competition again in future years. Thank you to everyone for entering, and well done to all the prize winners!”

We extend our gratitude to all participants for their contributions and extend hearty congratulations to the deserving winners:
