Celebration Event for University Retirees

The University recently held an afternoon tea to celebrate the 47 staff who retired during the period of 1 October 2022 to 30 September 2023.

The event was organised by the Human Resources Team and was hosted by Vice-Chancellor Professor Nick Jennings together with Chief Operating Officer Richard Taylor.

The retirees received a certificate and a sustainable gift from The Crop Club as a thank-you for their service to the organisation. The Loughborough University Choir also performed a medley of songs.

During the event, Professor Nick Jennings thanked the collective effort of all our staff and recognised that Loughborough University would not be as successful without the contributions of everyone. He thanked the retirees for the projects they have delivered, for the colleagues they have supported, for the students they have inspired, and for the impact they have had.

A special mention was given to Roger Smith and June Newton who had 51- and 38-years’ service respectively.
