Design the Future of Smart Mobility with the Ford Motor Company Fund

In partnership with Ford Fund (Ford Motor Company’s not-for-profit foundation), Loughborough University is seeking ambitious, entrepreneurial students to take part in the 2024 Smart Mobility Challenge which runs from January onwards.

Students will get the chance to work on a live brief with Ford Fund to explore the future of smart mobility.

The winners will have the opportunity to develop their ideas further, secure funding and take their ideas from sketchbook to market.

The School of Design and Creative Arts is collaborating with our alumni, goya design, on a hack to launch this year’s Smart Mobility Challenge in London, 4-7 January. It includes:

  • A four-day ‘Inventor's hack’ with a programme of inspirational talks and design workshops where you will come up with future smart mobility concepts.
  • The opportunity to grow your team and get support in developing your idea.
  • Support for developing a social business case around your idea with a view to taking it to market.
  • The chance to win funding to prototype and trial your idea in the real world.

There is a budget to cover travel costs and support for other expenses like accommodation and this can be applied for when applying for a place. There are no prerequisites for being involved, you just need to be a current student enrolled at Loughborough University or Loughborough University London who is able to attend all four days of the hack in Peckham, London.

The deadline to apply is 6pm, 27 November.

Apply for the hack.
