Opportunity for Doctoral Researchers to join the LU Arts Student Team as an events co-ordinator

For 2024/25, LU Arts are looking to recruit an events co-ordinator to help curate and deliver a creative and wellbeing programme for staff and postgraduate students.

As an events co-ordinator, you will organise a range of creative and wellbeing activities and events during the year, which are specifically aimed at staff and postgraduate students on the East Midlands campus.

The events should include practical workshops, talks and activities. They could be fun, hands-on arts and crafts activities, intellectually engaging talks or initiatives. They could support different awareness days or months. You will be required to deliver a minimum of six events throughout the academic year at a range of locations across campus (both indoors and outdoors). These events should appeal to a wide range of staff and postgraduate students and take place either at lunchtimes or early evenings.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop key skills and gain experience in planning and running events and working for an arts organisation. You can find out more about the role on the dedicated webpage.

You will be paid a fee of £600 for the year (October 2024-June 2025) and you will have a production budget of up to £1,500 to spend on this programme. This will include things like artist and speaker fees, workshop materials and any other costs associated with the activities and events you organise.

This opportunity is open to Loughborough University Doctoral researchers only who are based at the East Midlands campus. It does not matter what area your research is in but it would be an advantage to have a demonstrable interest in the arts. Your research at Loughborough should be expected to continue until the end of the academic year 2024/25.

Please complete the Microsoft Form to apply for this position.

The deadline to apply for this role is Sunday 11 August 2024.

If you have any questions in advance of applying, then please email LUArts@lboro.ac.uk.
