If members access their pension before their National Pension Age (NPA) their benefits will be reduced by a percentage due to early release of their pension entitlement. The size of this reduction is dependent on how many years you are from NPA.  

A new set of factors for early retirement benefits will come into place from 1 October 2024, and therefore we strongly recommend those who are considering early retirement should investigate how these changes may impact your future pension.
