Join the LU Arts Student Team as a photographer or technician

In today’s employer marketplace, the ability to be creative is increasingly important. LU Arts aims to provide you with skills and experience that will help you stand out from the crowd.

LU Arts have a Student Team to help deliver their programme of arts events and activities each year. Student team members are all employed on a casual basis and paid at the Student Ambassador rate (currently £12.84 per hour). For 2024/25, they are looking to recruit a Student Photographer and Student Technician to join the team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop key skills and gain experience in event photography, event support and working for an arts organisation.

Student Photographer

In this role you will attend and document LU Arts events and occasionally events organised by other parts of the University. Events will usually take place on the Loughborough campus. This could include arts and craft workshops, live performance nights, guided walks and student society rehearsals.

LU Arts will use your photographs on their social media channels, website and in marketing materials. Loughborough University’s wider marketing team may use them too.

Find out more about the photographer role and apply on the LU Arts website.

Student Technician

In this varied role, you will provide practical support for the wide range of arts events organised by LU Arts and Radar (usually on campus). You could be asked to:

  • help install an exhibition in Martin Hall Gallery
  • set up basic sound and lighting for a concert in Cope Auditorium or Martin Hall Theatre
  • set up a gazebo and stand for LU Arts at University open days.

The role involves working weekends and evenings. Events may include arts and craft workshops, live performance nights, screenings and exhibitions.

Find out more about the technician role and apply on the LU Arts website.

The deadline to apply for both roles is Wednesday 3 July 2024.

If you have any questions about either role, please email LUArts@lboro.ac.uk.
