Exciting opportunity to perform alongside professional singers at Nottingham Contemporary

Radar is collaborating with Waste Paper Opera on their upcoming performance of Dead Cat Bounce at Nottingham Contemporary on Thursday 25 July.

They are looking for enthusiastic people with some singing experience to be part of the chorus – although you do not need choral experience.

Dead Cat Bounce is an oratorio about finance and catastrophe which premiered at Somerset House in 2022. Waste Paper Opera are currently touring the production to Birmingham, Nottingham and Sheffield and Radar is collaborating with them on the Nottingham performance. Musically, the show brings together choral music, sound art and synthpop and features three soloists (professionals) and a live band.

The music is simple and can be learned in a relatively quick timescale. You do not need to be able to read music, but scores are provided for those who will find them useful.

To get a feel for the music you can watch the premiere of Dead Cat Bounce recorded at Somerset House in 2022.

Travel expenses from Loughborough to Nottingham for the dress rehearsal and the performance will be covered for any Loughborough University students and staff who take part.

If you have any questions about this project or would like to sign up, then please email Radar at LUArts@lboro.ac.uk. The deadline to sign up is Monday 1 July.

View the performance details on Nottingham Contemporary’s website.
