University launches Technical Apprenticeship Scheme

The University is pleased to announce it is currently recruiting for six Technical Apprentices.

The scheme is part of Loughborough’s pledge to the Technician Commitment and will help to future-proof our technical workforce.

The Apprentices will rotate between most of our academic Schools including the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering; the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences; School of Science; Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering; School of Design and Creative Arts; and Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering.

This appointment is full-time and fixed term (48 months for engineering-based and 24 months for lab-based Technical apprentices) for the duration of your apprenticeship, with a starting salary of £22,011 per annum. In addition to on-the-job training and development, you will attend Loughborough College to gain a recognised qualification.

The apprenticeship roles are a pathway into an exciting career as a technician in a variety of scientific and engineering fields. Whilst no guarantee can be made, it is hoped that a permanent position could be found for an appointee who successfully completes the Apprenticeship.

Further information about the role and how to apply can be found on the University’s job vacancies page.

The closing date for applications is 14 July 2024. Interviews will be held 23 July 2024. Informal enquiries should be directed to Matt Parry.
