The award was presented to them for developing innovative approaches to support inclusivity for postdoctoral researchers. This award champions excellent practice within researcher development that demonstrates inventive approaches to complex challenges, and that contributes towards achieving equity of access to researcher development opportunities and support.   

The announcement was made at an awards ceremony during the Vitae Conference Gala dinner on 23 September at The Rep, Birmingham. The second year of the ICE Awards celebrated and highlighted the impactful and innovative work carried out by the researcher development community, acknowledging the significant contributions it makes towards helping researchers reach their full potential.   

Dr Kathryn North, C-DICE Director, accepted the award and expressed her gratitude in being recognised by Vitae and the researcher developer community, thanking Professor Malcolm Cook (Dean of the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering) and Professor Martin Freer (CEO, Faraday Institution) for the nomination, and the fantastic work of the team at the consortium universities of Loughborough, Cranfield and Birmingham. Kathryn also acknowledged the huge role of the researchers in engaging and making the job so rewarding.
