International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) is celebrated every year on June 23, to raise awareness about the incredible achievements of women in engineering and inspire the next generation of female engineers.

Meet our inspiring women in engineering

Celebrating International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) is not just about recognising past achievements, but also about inspiring future contributions. Young girls need role models they can look up to and learn from, and INWED provides the perfect platform to showcase some of the talented women working in the field.

This year we are celebrating the amazing work that women in engineering, who have #EnhancedByEngineering people's lives and are helping to build towards a brighter future.

For this INWED24, Huyen, has been named of the the UK's Top 50 Women in Engineering, a testament to her outstanding contributions and the positive impact she has on society through advocacy and mentorship, she creates a more inclusive and supportive environment for women in STEM.

Donna Otchere

Donna has recently been awarded the Rising Star Award by WeAreTheCity after co-founding SiSTEM UK with her sister that launched to increase the visibility of women in STEM. She actively engages with schools, universities and festivals to educate people about engineering.

Becky Simms

Becky Simms works at the MBDA, a business that is passionate about inspiring young minds to take up science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects at school and showing them the fantastic engineering careers it can lead to.

Eeman Al-Ameen and Catherine Yeung

Eeman and Catherine were honored at the Women in Engineering Awards by Loughborough University for their outstanding contributions. Eeman, a civil engineer, excels in cementitious panels research, while Catherine is recognised for her work in building energy performance.

Kate Allen

Kate has been recognised among Women in Innovation for the creation of her business, ExpHand Prosthetics which aims to create affordable prosthetics that can grow with you. She hopes to inspire more women to start their own companies and take on new leadership roles within STEM.

Kelly was awarded for her efforts by the Chartered Institute of Building Rising Star Gold Award. Being recognised by her employer and external professional bodies has been a huge boost for her professional network and doors with other initiatives for an exciting career as a woman in STEM.
