To me, my non-binary identity represents freedom. Freedom to make decisions based on what I want, what I like, and what is right for me. Freedom to reject others’ preconceived ideas of what I should or shouldn’t be.
It represents breaking free from the societally imposed boxes that I do not fit in, instead drawing the lines of my own box that I fit perfectly within.
The LGBT+ community at Loughborough has helped give me the confidence to break free, providing a safe and accepting space for me to just be me.
