What the LGBT+ umbrella means to me, first and foremost, is that I’m not alone.

It’s too easy to feel disconnected from everyone else, especially when LGBT+ folk have been so misunderstood for so long. But for me, the LGBT+ Association has changed that. I no longer see a part of my identity that is incongruent with the rest of me, and I no longer feel like I can’t enjoy and express my LGBT+ identity fully.

Here I have a community of people with whom I can share all parts of my identity, and be celebrated for who I am.
