Doping in sport – what’s the testing process? (VIDEO)

Ahead of a busy summer of sport, the issue of doping remains firmly in the news headlines.

With the recent announcement that Chinese swimmers are set for twice as many doping tests in Paris due to previous offences, sporting authorities will once again be under pressure to deliver a robust and reliable anti-doping system.

Here, in the latest video showcasing Loughborough’s expertise in academia and elite-level sport, researchers from the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences have demonstrated the doping testing process and how the latest technology can identify prohibited substances.  

Dr Liam Heaney, Senior Lecturer in Bioanalytical Sciences, is joined by Doctoral Researcher, Alisha Henderson, to explain more.
