The Centre represents an opportunity to put Loughborough and the Midlands at the heart of the national and international conversations on the future of supply chains.

We are currently seeking experienced academics and practitioners to fill the following vacancies, all of which will commence in early 2025. We are advertising for three roles within the Centre: Professor and Director of UK SCALE Centre; Professor and Academic Director; and Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader, MSc Supply Chain Management. These are fantastic opportunities to join the Loughborough Business School and be part of the new UK SCALE Centre.

Centre Director and Professor

As the Centre Director you will lead the growth and development of the UK SCALE Centre to become the locus for education, research and innovation in supply chain and operations management in the United Kingdom.

You will design, direct, and manage the UK SCALE Centre activities in education, research, and outreach and will report to the Dean of School. Among the Director’s specific responsibilities are strategic planning, program management, school/staff/student development, resource allocation and budget management, enrolment management, development of research funding, technology transfer, partnership initiatives, and relations with external constituencies.

Professor and Academic Director

You will provide academic leadership in the development and improvement of a high-quality programme portfolio, delivering a suite of programmes that are consistently relevant and attractive in the higher education market, and aligned with the school’s vision and strategy of the UK SCALE Centre. 

We are seeking candidates with a research, teaching and enterprise background. We are particularly looking for applicants with experience in supply chain management, transportation, logistics, operations management or a related discipline.

Academic Director details and application information

Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of the MSc Supply Chain Management

The post holder will be a Senior Lecturer and hold the additional academic leadership role as Programme Leader for the first three years in the post. During this time, you will lead the preparatory activities to launch the MSc Supply Chain Management programme, lead the programme curriculum development and manage the MSc programme in general. This is a pivotal role due to this being a new programme.

Alongside being a Programme Leader, as a Senior Lecturer you will take a leading role in developing and enhancing the research, teaching and enterprise activities of the School in support of the University’s Strategy, Building Excellence.
