At Loughborough Business School, we regularly review and refresh our courses to align our teaching with the priorities of organisations and the planet, ensuring you are prepared for the graduate roles of tomorrow’s business world.

We have updated all our undergraduate programmes to incorporate modules which tackle modern business challenges such as sustainability, ethical business practice, and responsible management. These modules will help your develop the critical skills and understanding to be an effective, purpose-driven leader in your future career.

Additionally, we have invested in the introduction of innovative teaching technologies that will support your learning experience both inside and out of the classroom. These include digital learning platforms like DataCamp, holographic guest speaker and Lightboard demonstration technology, and case studies and simulations.

Hear from Professor Vikki Locke (Director of Undergraduate Studies) and Dr Justine Wood (Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience) about our fantastic student experience, purpose-led learning, and innovative new teaching technologies.

Module enhancements

Business sustainability project

Conduct in-depth study of the concepts and frameworks of business sustainability and how they are applied in practice. You will examine sustainable processes, responsible leadership and entrepreneurial thinking, while developing your innovation, collaboration and decision-making. You'll build critical thinking, resilience and professional communication skills, enabling you to evaluate sustainability challenges, influence others and contribute to sustainable value creation in organisations.

Ethics and professional skills

Investigate the principles and practice of ethical business in contemporary global contexts. You will examine ethical dilemmas, corporate responsibility and the role of business in society, applying ethical theories to real organisational challenges. Through collaborative project work, you will develop professional, digital and interpersonal skills, including communication, feedback and self-reflection, enabling you to make responsible, evidence-based decisions in a business setting.

Responsible management practice

Explore the principles of responsible management in a complex, changing business environment. You will explore how real organisations operate ethically and sustainably, analyse drivers of success and failure, and understand responsible leadership and decision-making. Alongside theory, the module develops essential academic, digital and communication skills, including research, presentation, negotiation, empathy and inclusivity, providing a strong foundation for your future career.

New learning technologies

Professor Vikki Locke draws on the interactive 'Lightboard'.

Lightboard technology

We’re improving our recorded teaching content with the use of new Lightboard technology. This innovative device allows our academic staff to visually demonstrate the applied concepts you learn before and during your lectures, helping you to understand complex business theory or economic principles.

A stack of reports.

Case studies and simulations

You'll enjoy access to interactive case studies and simulations, offering you the chance to work with a wide range of business-specific multimedia to address challenges. You will have the opportunity to engage in contextual problem-solving and decision-making, using real-world industry scenarios.
