I am a mid-career researcher, having obtained my PhD in February 2016. My research output to date includes more than 80 peer-reviewed journal articles and 20 first-author peer-reviewed conference papers. I have more than 1.5k citations with an h-index of 26 on Google Scholar. My research to date is based on the study of emotion and the application of psychophysiological methodology in multiple disciplines including psychology, marketing, health, nursing, and robotics. My research on consumer biometrics and neuromarketing is recognised internationally and has been featured in an TEDx talk (https://youtu.be/ZMoQY84NTgE).

I am also an active researcher who founded and is currently managing the Consumer Research Lab (CRL) at Curtin University. In this role, I have led various industry-funded projects with Truffle Producer WA, Redbull, Nexans, SOHO Global Health (Indonesia), Lotterywest, HBF, RAC, Department of Health (DoH), Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attraction (DBCA), Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), and Fogarty Wine amongst others. In this role, I have obtained more than $1.8M of external industry and nationally competitive research funding. My biometric market research solution was also successfully commercialised and licenced to Metrix Consulting. 

I am responsible for coordinating a post graduate unit and a edX MOOC on digital and interactive marketing at Curtin University. In this role, I have been accorded with AAUT Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning Award, 2019 ANZMAC Emerging Marketing Educator of the Year Award, 2019 Curtin Award for Excellence and Innovation in Teaching, 2018 CBS New Teacher of the Year Award and 2016 Outstanding Teaching Excellence Award. Since December 2019, I am also an executive member of ANZMAC, the primary marketing academic organisation supporting universities and institutions in Australia and New Zealand.

My recent national and international awards include the 2020 Australian Institute of Policy and Science WA Tall Poppy Science Award, 2020 Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning Award, and 2021 Reviewer of the Year for Australasian Marketing Journal. I am currently an adjunct research fellow of Menzies Health Institute Queensland. I am also an associate editor of Journal of Global Fashion Marketing and International Journal of Market Research. I also serve on the editorial review board of Australasian Marketing Journal and International Journal of Advertising.
