Thank you for submitting an application to study Fashion Design and Technology - you are now required to complete the task outlined below.
A good design task supplements your design portfolio and is an ideal opportunity to showcase the type of designer that you are. As such, the approach you take to completing the design task is entirely up to you.
BA Fashion Design and Technology
If you have applied for our BA Fashion Design and Technology course, please select from one of the two briefs below:
Option One
"Design a contemporary fashion outfit inspired by an individual of historical significance."
Option Two
"Design a new innovative uniform to be worn by employees of an iconic brand or members of a sporting team."
Structuring your task
Completing this task gives us insight into how you approach designing without the restrictions of marking criteria. It also gives us a unique perspective on your skills, knowledge, imagination and suitability for the programme.
You are limited to 3x digital screens (equivalent to A3-sized sheets) as a maximum, and the task should take at most one or two days to complete. We encourage you to compile your design task in the same way as you would compose a portfolio piece:
