Additive Manufacturing
Research Group
Our research group explores the development of additive manufacturing processes and new application areas for the technologies to benefit industry and the wider society.
About us
We work on cross-disciplinary projects covering communication, electronics, prosthetics, design, biomaterials, aerospace, energy and automotive applications, sustainability and fundamental mechanics of materials.
Our facilities can manufacture structures from all three material groups (polymers, metals and ceramics) and we are developing multi-material processes to manufacture metal-ceramic and polymer-metal parts.
The group is home to approximately 15 PhD students and Post Docs, and collaborates internationally and nationally with academics and industry as well as within the Loughborough University Additive Manufacturing Network.
