Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technologies Research Group (CREST)
For over 25 years, CREST has overseen the research and development of the most progressive renewable energy technologies.
About us
The research and development of these new technologies aim to uncover viable fossil fuel alternatives and support the rapid growth within the global sustainable energy sector. Through doing so, CREST continue to shape the sustainable energy landscape, supporting innovation, resourcing policy development and increasing knowledge through proactive dissemination.
Additionally, CREST’s expansion continues as new research avenues are explored through large-scale, ground-breaking collaborations, with increasing numbers continuing to benefit from their knowledge dissemination.
As a member of the European Renewable Energy Centres Agency, CREST’s research activities cover a range of technical application including wind power, solar PV, energy in buildings, grid connection and integration and energy storage (including hydrogen).
In addition to the research undertaken, CREST offers a postgraduate master's degree in Renewable Energy Systems Technologies (REST). The course is informed by the latest research and delivered by world-leading experts; the innovative distance learning master's degree continues to widen its global reach and influence, ensuring the highly skilled graduates produced are prized by industry with many enjoying positions of influence.
