Dr Emrah Demirci

MSc PhD

  • Senior Lecturer in Mechanics of Advanced Materials

Dr Emrah Demirci is a Senior Lecturer of Mechanics of Advanced Materials at the Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering, at Loughborough University. He is an expert in computational and experimental solid mechanics, mechanics and micromechanics of materials, and advanced finite element analysis.

Dr Demirci’s world-class research focuses on finite element modelling and material characterisation of advanced materials, including polymer-based nonwoven fabrics. He published 40+ journal papers and participated 60+ conferences in this field. Since his appointment as a lecturer in 2011, Dr Demirci worked on several industrial and research projects on material characterisation and finite element analysis of nonwoven fabrics, polymers, metal forming, composite materials and bones, and collaborated with numerous companies and institutes worldwide.
