Accommodation support for physical and mental health conditions

The Student Accommodation Centre are committed to providing suitable room adjustments for students with a disability. We provide a range of accommodation options to support students with long term physical and mental health conditions, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed at Loughborough University.

The process of securing disability adjustments for your accommodation varies depending on what type of offer you have received from the University. To get started, please tell us which type of offer holder you are.

Who are you?

If your circumstances have changed during your stay in campus accommodation at Loughborough University and you now need disability support, contact the Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity team as soon as possible.

The adjustments we can offer

After completing the Disability and Health Portal, the Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity team will assess what type of adjustments need to be put in place for you by the Student Accommodation Centre.

The Student Accommodation Centre offer room focused adjustments and equipment focused adjustments. If you need a specific model of equipment you must specify this in your occupational therapist report and provide this documentation to the Student Wellbeing and Inclusivity team.

Room focused adjustments include:

  • Accessible rooms with power assist doors
  • Accessible bathrooms with shower-seats and handles
  • En-suite bathrooms
  • Catering
  • Location

Equipment focused adjustments include:

  • Medical fridges
  • Deaf-guard alarms
  • Shower stool
