Vote for one of the following roles below:

Hall Chair

MUST LIVE IN HALLS - The hall chair runs weekly committee meeting. They oversee all areas of committee including delegating tasks and work in partnership with each section. They should network with the rest of the university for the benefit of the hall, attend Hall Student Federation meetings (including meetings with the university Senior Leadership Board) and work alongside the Warden in operations regarding the hall. They will be responsible for Writing their Hall Portfolio for the Hall of the Year Award.

Natasha Richards

If I am successful in getting the position of chair, I will continue with what the current chair is doing; trying to making Harry French a more popular and welcoming environment, whilst trying to increase engagement and improve the stereotypes surrounding it. We have already thought of some ideas which I will try my hardest to bring to life.

Social Secretary

(2 positions available) Responsible for planning and delivering social events that enhance the Hall experience. Key duties include planning and coordinating the Winter and Summer Balls, attending Social Secretary meetings and sharing relevant updates with the Hall Committee, working closely with Warden to complete required paperwork, leading the organisation of Welcome and Refreshers, and organising Hall Day celebrations.

Natalie Gordon

As a first year, social secs were the reason I felt so welcomed: whether it was just being friendly or putting on fun events for us. I always questioned if I should go, getting nervous to be there surrounded by unfamiliar faces, but I always left the events feeling happy and excited for the next one. Therefore, my respect for the role of social secs has encouraged me to apply, wanting to help next year’s freshers settle into the simultaneously nervous and exciting experience of university.
As a social sec, planning events with creativity to keep them fun and interesting would be important, since I want the fresher’s week momentum of putting yourself out there to continue through the whole year. I believe events should be inclusive, therefore I’d strive to organise events that were, finding something for everyone to enjoy. University is about being bold and spontaneous and I want to encourage that.
Working alongside other committee members, I believe I’d be a good team member in helping set up, plan and host events. I’ve got an outgoing and friendly personality and would love to be able to help next year’s freshers make the most of their time.

Brave Changwereza

My goal is to form and create a new and exciting era for Harry French 2026. This will include creating events that apply to eveyone and making each event more exciting than the next making it impossible to miss any of them. From experience common room parties bring the most people, so this will be more frequent. Also, a Harry French treasure hunt or scavenger hunt with incentives and prizes will allow for a house with a more communion feel, with friendly competiton and rivalry in house. Overall, new events with a more unified house - making Harry French more connected than ever.

AAIR Representative

(2 positions available) Supports the engagement and inclusion of alumni, affiliate, international, and returning students within the Hall community; organise events and initiatives tailored to AAIR members; promote inclusivity and integration within the Hall; providing support and signposting relevant University and LSU services, act as a liaison between AAIR students and the Hall Committee; attend relevant meetings such as the AAIR Rep Support Community to ensure AAIR students’ voices are heard.

Gema Torres Aguilar

If elected as AAIR Representative, I will focus on building a stronger sense of belonging for AAIR students in Harry French Hall by organising fun, relaxed, affordable and inclusive activities each term, such as creative sessions, informal coffee meet-ups, cultural and games nights, to help students connect with others and feel part of the hall community without pressure.

I will also improve how information and opportunities are shared with AAIR students. As a graphic design student, I will create clear, accessible and engaging posts and resources to promote both academic and social opportunities, and to signpost relevant University and LSU services. Drawing on my experience as an Arts Worker at Loughborough University and my involvement with programmes such as Recreational Sport, I will help highlight free, fun and non-competitive activities that support wellbeing and encourage wider engagement.

Finally, I will act as a strong representative voice for AAIR students by regularly gathering feedback, attending AAIR Rep meetings and raising key issues to the Hall Committee, ensuring AAIR students’ voices are heard and represented.
