After a historic season where Loughborough University’s Men's 1st XV secured the BSR trophy for the first time, the Men's 3rd XV continued the success by earning promotion on Wednesday evening.

In a challenging match against a formidable Heriot-Watt side and in tough conditions, the 3rd XV triumphed, marking a significant milestone in the club's history by placing their teams in back-to-back leagues for the first time.

The promotion playoff victory for the 3rd XV against Heriot-Watt was the crowning achievement of a highly successful season for the entire club. This win represents months of dedication both on and off the pitch and stands as a testament to the players and the exceptional coaching team of Danny Riley, Cal Smyth, and Louis Peacock.

With this promotion, the club now boasts BUCS teams in the top three leagues of university rugby for the first time ever.

The club's ambitions were clear from the start of the season, and the players committed 100% to every game and training session, positioning themselves for success.

This season's consistency within the group has been crucial in raising standards and boosting morale. It has been an exceptional year to be a BUCS 3 player, evidenced by the players' willingness to work for each other on the pitch and the camaraderie off it.

Next season presents a new challenge as the team will face more competitive teams each week. Maintaining the morale and team unity they have built this year will be more important than ever.
