Useful information for employers attending the event.

Here we have hopefully answered some frequently asked questions and provided you with the information you need for the event. Should you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Colleagues from across two Loughborough University Schools are collaborating to host the 2024 Engineering Placements Fair:

  • The School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering
  • Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering

This event is completely FREE to attend and includes lunch and refreshments! It is being subsidised by the two organising Schools.

  • The majority of students are expected to arrive at 9am but some may start arriving by 8.30am. The fair will remain open until 3pm.
  • The morning presentations commence at 9.30am.
  • Lunch is available from 12 until 1pm.
  • The afternoon presentations recommence from 12.50pm, please note a selection of final year students from both schools will be seeking graduate roles.

IMPORTANT: As space is limited, our event is by invitation only and strictly for students studying within our two schools:

We therefore ask you not to advertise this event on your website or invite students from other Loughborough departments.

A limited number of 10-minute presentation slots are available on the day on a first come first served basis.

For directions to Holywell Park, enter the postcode LE11 3GR into your Sat Nav. Alternatively directions can also be found on the Holywell Park website . Free parking is available in the car park at the front of the building.

Sir Denis Rooke building will be open from 7am in order for you to set up. All stands should be ready by 8.45am when student registration will begin. Please ensure all of your company representatives sign in at reception upon entry. Staff will be on hand to provide assistance. Live presentations commence at 9.30am.

Directions to Holywell Park

Wi-Fi is available, the password can be obtained on the day. Please feel free to use #LUEngFair2024 on your social media channels.

Each company will be allocated an exhibition space prior to the event. The floor plan showing your location will be on display at the entrance.  Each exhibition space measures approximately 2m by 3m for your stand; you will be provided with a table, tablecloth and chairs (plus a power socket if you requested one on the RSVP form).

If you are displaying something large e.g., a vehicle, please contact the team in advance. (aacmeplacements@mailbox.lboro.ac.uk, tel: 01509 223165).

Refreshments are provided throughout the day. Please help yourself to hot/cold drinks and snacks at one of the refreshment stations. Water fountains are available so we encourage you to bring refillable bottles.

A buffet lunch will be available in the restaurant upstairs between 12pm and 1pm. Please bear in mind that students will still be circulating at this time so we would advise all attendees to consider staggering their lunches so that the stand is not left unattended.

Vegetarian options will be available and any dietary requirements that have been requested will be catered for. Please let us know of any allergies.

If you would like to have your display equipment and other items delivered in advance, these can be delivered to the Denis Rooke building from 7 October. The building is manned between 9am and 5pm. Please address any packages as follows:

In the rare circumstances that you may need to bring additional security to the event, please let us know in advance of the day so that we can contact the university’s security team and ensure that they work together on the day.

For companies travelling long distance to attend the fair, we offer 3 hotel options on or near campus; Burleigh Court, The Elite Athlete Hotel and The Link Hotel.

To enable an internal discount on the standard rates, please contact Jenny on 01509 227652 who can make the booking on your behalf. Please note that you will have to settle your own account.

The university has installed a new pay on arrival parking system however, we are delighted to offer all delegates free parking for the day.

You can use code EPCF2024 when booking your parking.

The code will work on prebook, pay machines and scanpay (use the events location for no convenience fee).
