Anatomage Table

Through the DigiLabs project we have purchased an Anatomage table that provides a life size and interactive platform to view interactive cadavers.

The Anatomage table is the worlds only fully segmented real human 3D anatomy system allowing users to visualise male and female anatomy exactly as they would on physical cadavers. Individual structures are reconstituted in 3D resulting in incredible anatomical accuracy.

How the Anatomage table will be used

The Anatomage table will be used to support teaching on modules relating to anatomy, physiology and biosciences in practical laboratory teaching.

As well as being integrated into direct taught content, the Anatomage table will support the development of a programme of peer assisted drop-in sessions and generation of teaching and learning resources.

It will also be used during open days for prospective students, particularly for  the biosciences programmes.

As part of the DigiLabs project, we have also purchased 12 Anatomage tablets which will provide a similar solution on a smaller scale for group work within the classroom.

Benefits to the student experience

The Anatomage table brings an exciting alternative to the current lab practices that we have at Loughborough, it allows for the teaching of the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology in an engaging and hands on way and opens the opportunity for students to engage in informal exploratory sessions as well as enhancing the range of in-class activities.
