Module choices in Mathematical Sciences

Please follow the guidance on this page. If you apply to study modules that are not permitted by your School/Department, your learning agreement may be returned to you. If you have any questions, please contact the Exchange Co-ordinator. Detailed information about each module is shown in the Module Specification pages.

Number of credits

The recommended number of credits per semester is 30 ECTS credits (60 Loughborough credits).

You are advised not to exceed this recommendation.

Module options

Exchange students can select from a variety of Mathematical Sciences modules (MA codes).  Please check the Module Specifications Portal for details of the available modules.

Restrictions to module choices may apply based on module pre-requisites, as indicated in the module specification, and your previous level of experience, as well as timetabling restrictions. The Exchange Co-ordinator will discuss the suitability of your module choices with you in more detail if required.

Research projects

If you wish to undertake a research project during your time at Loughborough and are coming for a full academic year, you may registered for an approved project module.

Can I choose modules from other Schools/Departments?

You are encouraged to choose modules from within Mathematical Sciences (MA module codes).

It may be possible for you to take a minority of your modules in another School/Department, but you will need to discuss this in advance with the Mathematical Sciences Exchange Co-ordinator.  You will also require the approval of the other School/Department's Exchange Co-ordinator prior to the submission of your final learning agreement.
