It equips me with advanced knowledge and skills essential for success in my chosen field, ensuring a smoother transition into my professional journey. It also enables me to delve deeper into industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies, empowering me to give my utmost effort and excel in my chosen field.
What were you doing before starting the programme?
Before starting the programme, I was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (Honours) at BML Munjal University in India. During my studies, I undertook several management courses, which ignited my interest in the field of business. This realization motivated me to further my education in international business at Loughborough University.
What do you love most about your course?
My favourite module is 'International Business Environment' in semester one and 'Business Negotiations' in semester two. In the International Business Environment module, we engaged in activities that facilitated quick learning about global business dynamics. It provided a comprehensive understanding of real-world business practices, theories and examples.
Additionally, in the Business Negotiations module, we immersed ourselves in case studies and practical negotiation exercises, honing our negotiation skills through hands-on experience. The professors' dedication and commitment to making the learning process engaging and enjoyable enhanced my overall experience in these modules. Their efforts truly made learning both fun and enriching.
What kind of support have you received?
The support I've received from the department and the University has been exceptional. The Careers Network assisted me in tailoring my CV to UK standards, while the Business School organied frequent networking events, offering insights into various industries like consulting, digital marketing and supply chain. Additionally, the University promptly addressed any queries or concerns I had, directing me to the appropriate resources upon emailing them.
How do you find the social atmosphere/postgraduate community on campus?
The social atmosphere and postgraduate community on campus have been vibrant and inclusive, contributing immensely to my overall university experience. Since my arrival, I've found abundant opportunities to engage with fellow students through diverse clubs, societies and events, fostering meaningful connections and lifelong friendships. Whether participating in cultural festivities or attending academic seminars, the campus buzzes with excitement every day.
Additionally, during breaks such as Christmas and Easter when many of us are away from our families, the International Student Office organises high tables and fun events, providing a warm and welcoming environment for those remaining on campus. These events offer not only enjoyment but also a sense of belonging and community, making our time away from home feel more like a cherished family gathering. They also organise trips, like those to Beacon Hill or Birmingham during Christmas, which have been memorable highlights, offering refreshing adventures and bonding moments with friends amidst our academic pursuits.
What are your career aspirations after your MSc?
After completing my MSc, my career aspirations revolve around pursuing roles in global business management and marketing. I aim to leverage my advanced degree and skills acquired at Loughborough University to contribute effectively to multinational companies, driving growth, innovation and market expansion strategies on a global scale.
