Alumnus, International student

Loughborough University has a well-established presence in the field of Media and Communication research/education. When I was thinking about furthering my media knowledge through a master programme, I was particularly attracted to the theoretical orientation and interdisciplinary approach offered by the course at Loughborough.

We know that the media society is changing every day. The Media and Communication course at Loughborough provides you with hands-on advice, transferable skills and cutting-edge knowledge which will equip you well for the rapidly changing environment.

I mostly enjoyed the research culture and inclusive environment of my department. I felt encouraged all the time, which enabled me to be bold enough to experience different aspects of academic life while not only acting as a student.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity of working with different professors and lecturers. They are role models to me, always striving for excellence and ceaselessly helping students make progress. These motivate me and shape what kind of teacher I want to be.

After graduating from Loughborough, I decided to find my role in academia and later joined my current institution as a lecturer. It is not an easy path. But with the advice and inspirations from my former supervisors – whom I still have frequent contact with, I feel encouraged and highly motivated.

The job makes all my past experience meaningful. It also urges me to do more and to never stop trying.
