Students enjoy a generous amount of hands-on practical work and this involves a lot of specialist equipment and laboratory spaces. STEMLab is a state-of-the-art laboratory facility that opened for our students in 2017. It forms part of a wider £25M investment in the West Park of our campus, the home of our Engineering Schools, which includes an adjacent student learning and teaching hub.

STEMLab allows us to offer new ways to learn and collaborate. This includes ‘drop-in’ engineering workshops, teaching laboratories, computer-aided design and rapid prototyping facilities, a design studio and informal learning spaces. These facilities will further increase our ability to train and develop skilled graduates who are targeted by major employers from across the world.
