This popular, well-established course has a rich history of supporting students in developing the critical, analytical, conceptual, and practical skills necessary for professional-level contemporary industrial design practice.
Our students can flourish in an intellectually stimulating environment and are encouraged to explore design ideas and concepts in depth, with expert guidance from academic staff who are at the forefront of cutting-edge research in Industrial Design, and/or with many years of experience working in industry.
As a result of our outstanding industry links, students will engage in a range of live briefs set by leading UK and international consultancies and industry design teams. Students are also encouraged to enter competitions, and have been past winners of the James Dyson Awards, StarPack Awards, the RSA Student Design Awards, and the Ford Motor Company Fund Smart Mobility Challenge. Several final year students are also selected to showcase their work at the esteemed New Designers exhibition in London.

At Loughborough I have learned that to do your best work you have to choose projects that you really care about. Projects where I identified and solved real problems for real people were by far my most successful.
