The aims of the module are to Introduce students to research skills and academic scholarship conventions, basic software for data analysis, and academic transferable skills.

Chemistry 1

The aims of this module are to:

  • Introduce fundamental theory of physical, inorganic and organic chemistry.
  • Apply theory to solve chemical problems.

Human Biology

The aim of the module is to introduce students to fundamental biological concepts of human systems and disease.

Introduction to Numerical Methods

The aim of the module are to provide an introduction to GCSE & post-GCSE mathematics. To develop confidence in, and competence at applying basic mathematical techniques used in the life sciences, social sciences & humanities, business and economics, and sport science.

  • Build on the fundamental theory of physical, inorganic and organic chemistry.
  • Apply theory to seen and unseen problems.

Biology

The aim of the module is to introduce students to fundamental biology and environmental concepts.

Numerical Methods in Data Analysis

The aims of the module is:

  • To provide an introduction to post-GCSE mathematics.
  • To develop confidence in, and competence at applying mathematical and statistical techniques used in the life sciences, Finance, Economics, Sport Science and Biology.
