Loughborough has risen to 14th overall for Politics and 15th overall for History in the Complete University Guide 2025.

We have also ranked 10th for graduate prospects in both History and Politics, as well as 10th for student satisfaction in Politics. The results show improvements on last year with Politics climbing four places and History climbing three places.

The league table is based on ten measures: Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Graduate Prospects – outcomes, Graduate Prospects – on track, Student-Staff Ratio, Spending on Academic Services, Spending on Student Facilities, and Continuation.

Head of the International Relations Politics and History Department Dr Phil Parvin commented: “We are delighted to have achieved these rankings. We pride ourselves on providing our students with the best experience and prospects, so we are thrilled to be recognised in these areas.”
