Dr Sam Edwards appointed to the Board of the Portsmouth D-day Museum Trust

With the 80th anniversary of D-Day fast approaching, the Department of International Relations, Politics, and History is pleased to announce that Dr Sam Edwards, Reader in Modern Political History, has been appointed to the Board of the Portsmouth D-Day Museum Trust.

Dr Edwards is a historian of war, memory, and transatlantic relations, and he has published widely on D-Day commemorations. A Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, Dr Edwards is co-editor of the British Journal for Military History, and he is also a Trustee of The American Library (Norwich) and of Sulgrave Manor (Northamptonshire). He looks forward to supporting the museum in its on-going mission to tell the story of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.

The museum, The D-Day Story tells the story of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. It holds over 10,000 items – preserving, researching and acquiring objects to share with the public through exhibitions, workshops and other activities.
