Shania Robba, Loughborough alumna and Lightning forward, was named in the Gibraltar Women's National football squad starting eleven.

After nearly two years sidelined by injury, Shania made a spectacular return, showcasing her talent in not one but two matches against Liechtenstein on 22 and 25 February 2024.

Reflecting on her selection, Robba commented, "I am extremely honoured to be selected to represent Gibraltar internationally after being out for nearly 2 years due to a long injury period. I am excited to transfer all of the Lightning values into this week of international football."

Meanwhile, Lightning midfielder Jess Collyer proudly wore the national colours, earning her place in the starting lineup for the Cymru Women’s Under-19 National Team. Collyer showcased her skills by taking to the pitch against Scotland in an international friendly on Saturday, February 24th, 2024.

Commenting on her call up, Jess explained, "It’s always great to be called up for Wales; it’s an exciting opportunity to work with excellent coaches and play with and against top players."

Caitlin Robba, sibling to Shania and a current member of the Loughborough Futsal team, was also selected to make her debut representing the Gibraltar National Women's Team.
