Robert's friend Lloyd Wood has shared an obituary.

Rob Woolley (Transport Management and Planning 1989-1993, Cranfield MBA 2005) spent the bulk of his career at Transport for London, where he worked on cashless buses, low-emissions initiatives, and mobile connectivity. For some time at TfL he reported directly to Peter (now Lord) Hendy, former Minister of State for Rail.

After TfL, Rob worked in Saudi Arabia on the Riyadh Metro project, before leveraging his interest in computing and pivoting to software engineering for start-ups.

While in hall, he edited and published Elvyn News, taking advantage of craft inculcated by growing up with a father who worked in printing.

Always a keen traveller, the teenaged Rob funded a summer in Chicago with part-time work. Later explorations took him around China and Asia, often by train.

Rob was charismatic, enthusiastic, energetic, and driven. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and work colleagues.

He leaves a wife and son.
