BidScript is a software business focused on transforming organisations’ proposal management and work-winning functions. Their software application provides intelligent workflows and intuitive automations, offering not only productivity and cost-saving benefits but also tools to enhance the quality of user submissions.
Henry and Tyler launched the business whilst both at university. They wanted to address a flaw in the bidding of public and private contracts. Hundreds of billions of pounds of public and private contracts are awarded each year, yet most businesses are still completing tenders manually, using time-consuming spreadsheets and shared drives.
With a focus on the construction and engineering, IT and education sectors, BidScript supports businesses competing in some of the most demanding tendering environments in the world.
Early BidScript customers across the UK, US and the Middle East have already seen win rates improve by up to 50% by using BidScript’s AI-based technology to automate workflows and improve efficiencies.
Starting as a team of two, BidScript now employs a further two colleagues – both Loughborough graduates.
During his time at Loughborough, Henry received support from LUinc., which brings together support for entrepreneurial students across the University, enabling founders to develop skills, test ideas and set up and scale businesses.
Henry – Founder and CEO at BidScript – reflected on the support he received from LUInc.:
"When you're trying to start a business while everyone around you is living the traditional university experience, having that space and those people around you is invaluable.
"Everyone around you is working towards the same thing, which creates this brilliant sense of friendly competition and shared knowledge. I'd ask what felt like naive questions and get raw, honest answers from people who'd already been through it. That accelerated my learning curve in a way I simply couldn't have replicated elsewhere.
"Even after graduating, I've kept coming back. The relationships I built at LU Inc. haven't stopped — if anything, they've grown. Loughborough shaped a significant part of BidScript's story, and I'm proud of that."
Having secured £200,000 in investment last year, BidScript has now raised a further $800,000, taking total pre-seed funding to over $1 million.
The latest funding round includes follow-on investment from NPIF II – PXN Equity Finance, which is managed by PXN Ventures as part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II), alongside new investment from SFC Capital.
Henry added:
“We are delighted to have secured the continued backing from PXN and welcome new investment from SFC Capital. General-purpose AI does not meet the standards required for high-stakes public and private sector tendering – it’s a niche that demands deep expertise. BidScript embodies that exact principle and this latest funding round will allow us to take the next step on our journey as we expand into new markets and geographies.”
This latest pre-seed funding will allow the business to continue building its team, develop its product suite further, and expand into new markets both domestically and internationally.
