About the session

Join us at our Pop-up Maker Space, with quick and simple creative activities suitable for all.  Everyone knows that it’s good to take a break from your desk or screens for a short while, and doing something creative can be great for your wellbeing. Whether you’ve got 15mins or an hour, there’s something you can make or do in the time you have.

Each Pop-up session has a different focus, which will be self-led with simple instructions to follow if needed. In addition to this, there are basic art materials available at every session for you to use, including paper, paints, origami and colouring sheets.

For July’s Pop-up, we’re partnering with Fearon Hall and Loughborough Pride on a community banner-making project ahead of the Pride Parade in August. Create your own handheld felt banner expressing messages of inclusivity, solidarity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

If you don’t have time to stop and make your banner on the day, then you can collect the materials and take them away to make one at home.

Our Arts Events Assistant will be on hand to welcome you and chat!

The Pop-up Maker Space takes place on the fourth Thursday of the month in different locations on campus from 12.30-2.30pm. Keep an eye on our website for details of each session.

This event is part of Summertime Socials, a programme of activities for students staying in or near Loughborough over the summer. The Pop-up Maker Space is open to staff as well as students.

Visit the Summertime Socials webpage for full details

The parade will leave Fearon Hall at 11am and arrive at Queen’s Park at 12pm for the Picnic in the Park event. Joining the parade is free, but attendees need to register in advance to help with the planning and logistics for the event.
