Technology Enabled Learning and Teaching Sub-Committee
Terms of Reference
- To advise ESEC on technology strategy and policy setting for learning, teaching and assessment and oversee the development of associated implementation plans.
- Oversee the implementation and evaluation of key TEL initiatives, including:
- DigiLabs – supporting innovation in digital and hybrid learning spaces.
- Learn and associated systems / tools.
- Artificial Intelligence – promoting the ethical and effective use of AI and GenAI to support academic staff in delivering innovative, future-facing teaching and learning.
- To keep under review the effectiveness and appropriateness of technology systems and solutions pertaining to education and student experience, assuring the quality and equity of students' learning opportunities and experiences, and staff access to efficient and effective tools to support curriculum development.
- To oversee the adherence to regular update, maintenance and evaluation cycles for all technology systems and tools within learning, teaching and assessment.
- To receive reports and recommendations and updates from operational working groups which may be permanent or established from time to time to address specific issues, and other groups working within the scope of technology for learning, teaching and assessment, escalating to ESEC where there is a significant strategic impact.
