This academic year, Loughborough Sport will be delivering the RunTogether programme in partnership with British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS). As part of the programme, they will offer a minimum of three weekly running sessions for staff and students, catering for a range of abilities and paces.
As a Run Leader, you will be expected to lead one weekly session, primarily during term time, with occasional opportunities to support delivery outside of term time. While there is an expectation to commit to a regular session, flexibility can be discussed with the Recreational Sport team. There is also flexibility regarding when sessions take place throughout the week.
You do not need to be an experienced runner to take on this role. Run Leaders can deliver sessions at a pace that suits their own ability and comfort level.
All Run Leaders will receive a fully funded Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) qualification, delivered by England Athletics. The course combines online learning with an in-person practical session. To be eligible for the role, you must be available to attend the practical training session on 26 September, 1pm-4pm.
To express your interest in this opportunity, please contact Orion Chan (Participation Graduate Officer) via email at m.chan2@lboro.ac.uk by 30 July.
