Up to five scholarships will be awarded for 2026/27 across the following art forms:
- Creative writing – The writing or translation of any form of creative writing (including, but not limited to, poetry, fiction and scripts)

For 2026/27, scholars will receive a £200 cash prize, split into two payments of £100. The first payment will be before the end of the autumn term 2026. The second payment will follow the Arts Scholars Showcase event in May 2027, conditional upon meeting the expectations of the scholarship programme.
Arts scholars will be able to apply for extra funding to develop their talents – up to £500 each. This could cover tuition, mentoring, training and materials. The LU Arts team will share more information about funding options with the successful arts scholars. Funding is not guaranteed.
Applications will be judged based on your talent, the commitment you have shown to your chosen art form, and how the arts scholarship would benefit you.
All current Loughborough University students from either the Loughborough or London campus can apply. This includes undergraduate, postgraduate (taught and research), and international students.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 18 October 2026 at 11.45pm.
For more information and detailed application guidance, you can join the online Arts and Music Scholarship Q&A on Wednesday 14 October from 12.30pm-2pm.
