SafeZone is a free personal safety app that connects you directly with the University's Security Team. By downloading the app, you can:
- Contact the University’s Security Team quickly in an emergency;
- Request first aid assistance;
- Use the check-in function when working alone or outside normal hours, providing additional reassurance for lone workers;
- Receive important campus safety and incident alerts.
SafeZone is fully GDPR compliant and has been designed with privacy and security in mind. Your location will only be shared when you raise an alert manually, request assistance, or choose to use the check-in feature.
SafeZone Alliance
In August 2026, Loughborough University joined the SafeZone Alliance, which enables organisations to support staff and students when working remotely, travelling, or visiting partner institutions. If someone requests help, their home organisation is notified, while nearby Alliance teams can also provide immediate local assistance.
By working together, Alliance members extend consistent protection across campuses, regions, and cities, helping organisations deliver safety to people regardless of time and location.
