Driving Force Of Sporting Achievement

For outstanding leadership in sport achievement.

Men’s Football Performance Program

Loughborough Students Football Club have had an historic season. Having gained promotion from the United Counties League they have now become the highest placed University football team in the country. Balancing, a 10-month football season with games on Boxing Day, New Years Day and throughout the summer is a huge commitment from staff, volunteers, and students alongside their studies. Although Jamie is the Head Coach, the programme wouldn’t be the success it is without the support of many others, including Strength & conditioning coaches, nutritionists, physios, and psychological support who all come together to ensure the students are prepared for a long football and academic year.

Andi Manley

Andi Manley’s exceptional leadership and visionary approach have transformed Loughborough University's swimming programme into a world-renowned powerhouse of swimming excellence. His training methods and strategic planning have propelled numerous athletes to the pinnacle of their careers. Our BUCS points total for 2023/2024 was once again 1000 points, making the swimming programme the only sport from any University to do this.

Men’s Rugby Program (Support Staff)

This group of core staff, led by Head Coach Martin Webdale and supported by a team of volunteers have had an extremely successful season, finishing top of the overall BUCS table, and becoming National Cup Champions for the first time in fourteen years. At the highest levels of the sport, some of their players also made their international debuts. This club-wide success has been achieved through developing its workforce; providing both paid and volunteer opportunities to students to work across various facets of the game, from Performance Analysis through to coaching.
