Current student Freya Colbert was among the standout performers, returning from the championships with three medals. She helped Great Britain to gold in the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay, before taking bronze in the 200m freestyle. She then added a second European title as part of the women’s 4x100m medley relay.
Current student Tyler Melbourne-Smith earned European gold as part of Great Britain’s men’s 4x200m freestyle relay squad. He played an important role in the heats, helping the team secure its place in the final before Britain went on to claim the European title in championship-record time.
Loughborough alum Abbie Wood was also part of the victorious 4x200m freestyle relay team, adding another European title to her impressive international career.
In the individual events current student Max Litchfield claimed bronze in the men’s 400m individual medley, continuing his strong record in the event at major international championships.
There was further individual and relay success for Loughborough alum Lauren Cox, who won bronze in the women’s 50m backstroke before helping Great Britain to gold in the 4x100m medley relay.
