Society for Radiological Protection Webinar

Andrew Farnworth delivers SRP webinar on the risk of radioactive needlesticks

The Society for Radiological Protection (SRP) is the principal independent professional body for Radiation Protection in the UK.  SRP supports a better understanding of radiation hazards and provides advice and guidance to government and professionals working in all fields that use ionising radiation.
Andrew led a webinar on 'Radioactive needlesticks: What's the risk?'. His talk covered recent Loughborough research into the dose associated with accidental injuries when working with radioactive sharps. This research will help develop new guidelines for radioactive needlestick risk, which has many unknowns, and Andrew's talk discussed some of the issues in question in preparation for a community consultation.
