Drawing on his experience leading an international manufacturing business, Dr Celik shared practical insights into how sustainability is embedded within business strategy, driving innovation, supporting growth and creating value for customers in increasingly competitive global markets. The session formed part of the School's commitment to connecting students with business leaders who are tackling real-world challenges and opportunities.
Students gained a genuine insider perspective on world-leading production processes and international business growth, learning how Rosehill Group has developed specialist polymer solutions and built export success across more than 50 countries worldwide. Through real-life examples, they explored the opportunities and complexities of implementing responsible business practices whilst maintaining commercial success.
Dr Jeannie Holstein, module leader for Responsible Business Practices, said: “One of the strengths of the Responsible Business Practices module is the opportunity for students to engage directly with senior leaders who are putting these concepts into practice every day. Alex's session provided valuable insight into how sustainability can be integrated into business strategy and used to create competitive advantage in a global organisation.”
Dr Celik is also a graduate of Loughborough University, having completed a BSc in Chemistry, a Diploma in Industrial Studies and a PhD in Polymer Science before going on to build a successful international business career.
The guest lecture reflects Loughborough Business School's growing emphasis on industry engagement, ensuring students benefit from direct access to the knowledge, experience and perspectives of senior business leaders from across a range of sectors.
